Since its inception 34 years ago, the Guardianship Program of Dade County, Inc. has provided quality care to over 7,000 individuals. Guardianship Program is a private, non-profit agency which acts as the Public Guardian for indigent adults who are adjudicated incapacitated in Miami-Dade County, Florida. Initially, we served the elderly sixty years of age and older. Today we serve all adults from eighteen years old. A full range of services is provided to care for the multiple needs of our wards.

We Serve those that are among the most vulnerable. They are the frail elderly, the developmentally disabled, others maybe that are HIV-infected, and an increasing number of younger, mentally ill adults, who are functionally incapacitated to the point they require court intervention and adjudication.  Because the Guardianship Program serves all of Miami-Dade County, our client population represents various ethnic

backgrounds and speaks multiple languages, such an English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole.

The Guardianship Program strives every day to improve the quality of life of the most defenseless and forgotten members of our community

What is Give Miami Day?

Give Miami Day is a unique, online giving event that provides everyone in the community an opportunity to build a greater Miami through philanthropy. Starting at mid-night, for 24-hours all day, individuals may view online profiles of more than 400 nonprofit organizations serving Miami-Dade County and make a charitable gift here on http://givemiamiday.org/.

The Miami Foundation, Knight Foundation and our partners will maximize the community’s generosity by making a bonus gift for every donation between $25 and $10,000 received on November 17 through givemiamiday.org.
